Kish Supports Local Communities with Year-End Contributions

December 30, 2020

PRESS RELEASE

STATE COLLEGE, PA – Kish Bank has announced the distribution of $17,000 in charitable year-end contributions to local community organizations. In addition to the Bank’s annual 2020 contributions and community support of $180,000, the supplementary $17,000 in contributions were issued the week before Christmas following nominations of more than 50 charities by Kish team members in the weeks preceding the donations.

In making the announcement, CEO William Hayes stated, “The decision regarding the end-of-year contributions arose from a company-wide celebration of a historic milestone for Kish Bank as we surpassed one billion dollars in total assets in 2020 for the first time. We recognized that much of our 2020 growth related to demand for the Bank’s services resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, and we concluded that extra support for local charities in light of unprecedented community needs would directly connect with our core values of financial betterment for our communities.”

Hayes continued, “While there were many nominations, there was an overwhelming consensus focusing the largest share to food banks and pantries and United Ways across Kish Bank’s four-county market. Contributions to the United Ways serving Mifflin, Juniata, Huntingdon and Centre Counties were presented with the request that agencies addressing the needs of families and children would receive special emphasis from Kish’s financial support.” Beneficiaries included State College Area Food Bank, Centre County United Way, Bob Perks Cancer Fund, Community Volunteers in Medicine, Jana Marie Foundation, Huntingdon Food Pantry, Huntingdon County United Way, Huntingdon House, Huntingdon County PRIDE, Juniata County Food Pantry, Juniata County Meals on Wheels, United Way of Mifflin-Juniata, Nurses Pantry, New Life Church Food Fund, Calvary Bible Church Food Fund, Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard, NuVisions Center, Lumina Center, The Abuse Network, and the American Cancer Society.

In addition to the direct charitable contributions, Kish also continued its annual program of issuing more than $11,000 in Giant gift cards to its more than 200 team members. These “no strings attached” gift cards were available at the discretion of each employee to be used for presentation directly to families in need or to charities addressing food insecurity in local communities.
