PRESS RELEASE
STATE COLLEGE, PA – Kish Bank is proud to announce record-breaking results from its 2026 participation in the American Bankers Association (ABA) Foundation’s “Teach Children to Save” program, delivering banker-led financial education to more than 3,300 elementary students in local schools across Mifflin, Juniata, Centre, Huntingdon, and Blair counties.
“This record-breaking year for Teach Children to Save shows what’s possible when committed employees and strong school partners work together,” said Greg Hayes, President & CEO of Kish Bank. “We are proud to have reached so many students across all five counties we serve, while welcoming many new volunteers from the Kish team into this meaningful work. Financial literacy is a lifelong skill, and our team is honored to help students take those first steps toward smart saving and confident decision-making.”
In total, 117 Kish team members visited 163 classrooms in 17 schools across Central PA. Kish Bank’s strong 2026 results also reflect a growing need across Pennsylvania schools for accessible, high-quality financial education resources. With the Commonwealth’s newest mandate requiring financial education to be offered in classrooms, educators are increasingly seeking trusted partners and ready-to-use tools that help prepare students for real-world financial decisions. Through programs like Teach Children to Save, Kish Bank is helping to meet that need by providing engaging, age-appropriate lessons and volunteer support that complement classroom instruction and ease the burden on teachers.
“This is an excellent program,” commented Lewistown Elementary School teacher Susan Wagner. “I would like to see this program continue to strengthen the minds of our students regarding savings, goals, and the importance of planning financially.”
